Have you purchased a horse either though a horse sale or from an individual and have not received the papers or was told "they are in the mail" and you never have received them?

Do you have a copy of the papers, but no signed transfer with the original papers?

Do you have a horse that the paper work to register as a Quarter or Paint was never done and now you wish to register the horse?

Do you have a horse and know the pedigree, put do not have the paper work on the sire or dam?

Then maybe, your answer to getting your horse registered is The American Appendix Horse Association Hardship program.

Hardship Consideration into AAHA is decided on conformation of the horse. The horse must have Appendix horse conformation.   A horse with a paint coat pattern may apply for Hardship Consideration.  If you have any information about the horse, you will want to submit that information.  If you only have one parent's pedigree, submit that information.

You will need to take five pictures of your horse, front, back and both sides.  Take a fifth picture of your horse, a side view with the head turned forward the camera, if possible.  This picture will be placed on the Registration Certificate, so try to take a good quality picture.  You will have to mail or email the pictures to AAHA.  Answer the question on the form below, so we know how you will be sending the pictures to AAHA.

When you apply for a Hardship Consideration, please be patience with AAHA.  The process can take two weeks or more.  The horses are approved by a board which meets once a month.  If your paper work is in order and is received by the board before they meet, then this should only take 5 to 10 days to process the Hardship Consideration.  If you miss the board meeting, then your horse will be submitted the next time they meet.

The cost to apply is $60.00 for Hardship Consideration and you must choose a membership package, $5.00 for a DNA kit.  Once you get your DNA kit, follow the instructions and return the DNA kit with $45.00 for the DNA processing fee.  Hardship Consideration must be DNA.
